Woking - Jenson Button hopes to continue to defend McLarennext year. However, the 31-year-old driver surrendered to his team contract issues.
Among the six drivers who strengthens McLaren, Red Bull andFerrari, Button is the only driver whose fate is unclear in the next year. In the contract Button, McLaren did have the option to continue to wear them. But, to enable this option, both partiesneed to re-agree.
Button own hopes team principal Martin Whitmarsh will provide certainty about his future.
"Well, if he (Whitmarsh) take that option ..." Button said thatreported by ESPN.
"All she had to do is say yes, and I will also say yes because Iwant to be here next year," he added.
"Whatever the team when they will approach me. But, for me, I feel very happy with our car," he said.
